California University of Pennsylvania, also known as simply Cal U, is a public university located in California, which is a borough in Washington County, in the US state of Pennsylvania, situated along Monongahela River, with a population estimated at a number of more than 5000 inhabitants, during the 2000 census.

Cal U's athletic teams are known as the California Vulcans, which compete in NCAA Division II, in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference, in various sports, for both men and women, including in women's volleyball, men's and women's soccer, women's tennis and baseball and men's basketball, in which the Vulcans have advanced to the NCAA Tournament, this decade.
The distinctive colors of the Vulcans are red and black and their mascot is Blaze.
